Película realizada a favor de la UNICEF y el Programa Mundial para la Alimentación (WFP). Siete historias que se desarrollan en diversos países alrededor del mundo protagonizadas por niños: 'Tanza' (Mehdi Charef), 'Blue gipsy' (Emir Kusturica), 'Jesus Children of America' (Spike Lee), 'João and Bilu' (Katia Lund), 'Jonathan' (Ridley Scott/Jordan Scott), 'Ciro' (Stefano Veneruso) y 'Song Song and Little Cat' (John Woo). Burkina Faso, Serbia, Estados Unidos, Brasil, Gran Bretaña, Italia y China proveen los escenarios de las historias, retratos profundamente conmovedores de niños que diariamente hacen frente a la adversidad bajo la forma de todo tipo de privaciones, enfermedad y violencia.

John Woo constructs "Song Song and Little Cat," pic's concluding episode, around the simple contrast between a rich girl and a poor one. Song Song (Zhao Zicun) is the pampered, unhappy only daughter of parents who are splitting up. Little Cat (Qi Ruyi), found in the garbage as an infant by a homeless man, helps her protector scrounge for food until he is killed. Skillful camerawork and detailed set design give the story a depth that goes beyond the cliches it's based on, while the two tiny girls manage to emerge as real characters.

Unfortunately this is italian dub most likely from DVD released in Italy. Original language (mandarin) release seems to not exist on DVD yet. Good thing is that i found russian language subs for this (most likely from region5 DVD released in Russia) and we (me & Andy2006) manually translated these subs to english! (Yes we know russian - what a surprise, don't you think, hehe).
Also i included in this torrent original russian language .srt subs.

L a vi en la tele hace un mes más o menos. El segmento de John Woo es el mejor, revela que a Woo se le da muy bien el melodrama. Es muy emocional en la construcción de sus historias, y lo genial, lo que revela como un gran director, es que moviéndose en el registro del melodrama, no cae nunca en el golpe bajo.
