The 1984 wuxia classic The Supreme Swordsman sees the reteaming of Shaw Brothers stars Derek Yee and Jason Pai Piao after Shaolin Intruders. Also known as The Sword of Old Eagle and Eagle's Swordsman, it is one of the few films directed by Keith Li (Centipede Horror, Vampire Kids). The younger brother of Paul Chun and David Chiang, Derek Yee rose to quick stardom in the 1970s and 80s thank to his matinee idol looks and action skills, starring in films like Death Duel and Full Moon Scimitar. With Yee now better known for his work behind the camera as the director of acclaimed films like Protege and One Nite in Mongkok, The Supreme Swordsman is a good opportunity to see the younger Derek Yee in action in front of the camera. Other than Pai Piao and Derek Yee, The Supreme Swordman features a score of familiar Shaw Bros. names like Guk Fung (Ku Feng), Ling Yun, Jamie Luk, Lung Tien Hsiang, and Austin Wai, as well as Yuen Wah and Yuen Bun.
