Ching Li delivers an outstanding performance in her inaugural role for Shaw Brothers in the gripping When The Clouds Roll By. Like muddy cloud, her character pining over the loss of her lover that died in a plane crash, is mixed with enough clarity to recognize who she is, but has enough shades of gray to make her overcast mind sink in the gloom of schizophrenia. Ching went on to star in over fifty other Shaw Brothers films.
